F.A.Q.
1. Is that a picture of your cat?
Yes, yes it is. It's my cat, David. You can see he has one eye. Everyone likes to make jokes about him being a pirate, with a patch, so here he is, adorned with a turquoise heart-shaped eye patch. I've only known him with one eye, so for me, it's a normal look. Cats with two eyes seem abnormal. The drawing was lovingly done by Eleanor Eichenbaum, for my birthday.
2. How many employees do you have at Quiet + Loud PR?
That is a good question. One.
3. Do you hire interns?
Another good question. Yes, if they are willing to work for the love, or coffee and promotional stickers, are not allergic to cats, and don't mind working in my tiny-ass apartment.
4. What kind of "PR" do you do there at Quiet + Loud?
Mostly music-related publicity for a handful of small, independent record labels. Also, artsy-fartsy publicity for gallery exhibitions, visual arts-related events, books, and other projects of this nature.
5. Is the life of a New York publicist as glamorous as it is portrayed on television, film, and the Internet?
See question number 3. Wait, you know what, it IS as glamorous as they say. I may still sleep in a lofted bed and need to occasionally dig in the couch for change, but when asked what I do and I say "I'm a publicist," and it's kinda the same reaction you would get from saying, "I'm an archeologist," or "I'm a forensic pathologist." It's just really sexy, you know.
